Do you require Non-Domestic Energy Performance Certificate?
Commercial Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), also known as Non-Domestic EPCs, are a legal requirement for the sale or lease of all commercial properties in the UK. Each Commercial EPC provides prospective buyers or tenants with an assessment of the building’s energy efficiency, rated from A to G, allowing for easy comparison with similar properties. The certificate is accompanied by a recommendation report outlining potential improvements to enhance energy performance.
The importance of Commercial EPC ratings has grown significantly since the introduction of the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) in April 2018. Under these regulations, it is illegal to lease commercial properties with an EPC rating of F or G unless measures have been taken to improve the rating to at least an E. Future proposals suggest further tightening of standards, with a minimum D rating expected by 2025 and a C rating by 2030.
Our in-house team of experienced Energy Consultants not only provide Commercial EPCs but also offer expert advice on the most cost-effective and least disruptive ways to enhance your EPC rating, ensuring compliance with MEES regulations.
